Chicago 08 The 44th Chicago International Film Festival opens this evening with Rian Johnson's The Brothers Bloom (Rachel Weisz'll be there, too) and runs through October 29.

The Reader's JR Jones notes that the weekly is "pleased to increase our critical coverage of the festival this year," and opens a big, browseable package.

At Hollywood Bitchslap, Peter Sobczynski presents "A Brief And Not-Entirely-Complete Guide" to the first week, while, breaking it down day by day, Erik Childress suggests a schedule for you.
