Time. "50 Top 10 Lists of 2007."
Those Time magazine folks, they do like their lists. 50! For a single year. That's practically a top ten for every week of the year. As it averages out, there's just over one notable thing about each day this year to remember.
To cut to the movies, though: Richard Corliss tops his list with No Country for Old Men and, though you have to click your way through to #10, it goes pretty quickly. I'll bet you find a few surprises.
Speaking of which, Richard Schickel goes for Michael Clayton. More surprises follow.
And Richard Corliss picks the top ten DVD releases of the year.

I've written a long and rambling response to Corliss's rather alarming piece, "Do Film Critics Know Anything?" on my blog, http://evandav.blogspot.com
