Order of the Exile. Winter Update.

Today's renowned French director is Jacques Rivette, courtesy of new additions to Order of the Exile. First, David Pratt-Robson (videoarcadia) has translated comments Rivette made at the 1991 press conference at Cannes following the premiere of La belle noiseuse.

In 1963, Louis Marcorelles interviewed Rivette and Roger Leenhardt for Sight & Sound and, regarding Leenhardt, quoted Cahiers du cinéma: "Once every ten years, a dazzling article reminds us that he was the first of the film critics."

And in 1971, Peter Lloyd opened his piece on L'amour fou in Monogram 2 with a quote from that very interview.
