Toronto. A Gentle Breeze in the Village.
"A Gentle Breeze in the Village is from Japanese director Nobuhiro Yamashita," notes J Robert Parks. "He also made Linda, Linda, Linda, and he's lost none of his touch with teen characters.... I wish the film hadn't been so episodic, as some of the energy dissipates over the film's longer-than-necessary length, but that's a small quibble for what is a delightful tale."
"The charm and flow of the plot comes from the impressive performances of the kids, and how skillfully Yamashita makes us feel involved in their lives," writes Monika Bartyzel at Cinematical. "Instead of a journey of dramatic moments to lure you in, you're sucked in by the sweet and recognizable mini-moments."

I love this movie! It was the last thing I saw in Toronto, and it may have been my sentimental favorite—it's such a sweet and disarming film. Surely this will find U.S. distribution. Hello, Milestone?
