Interview. Lav Diaz.

Lav Diaz As the Venice Film Festival draws to a close, it sees the screening of surely one of the most unusual films in its lineup, Death in the Land of Encantos, by Lav Diaz, referred to in his Wikipedia entry as "s the ideological father of the New Philippine Film Movement." The film's around ten hours long and, at the main site, Tilman Baumgärtel [site] asks Lav Diaz what has led to such a radical aesthetic and talks with him, too, about the unique blend of documentary and fiction in his latest work.
