SXSW. Opener + 7.

The Lookout "This is a really cool film," blogged SXSW Film Conference and Festival Producer Matt Dentler just the other day, and he might have added, "Hint, hint. Nudge, nudge." He didn't, but he might have, because The Lookout, the directorial debut of screenwriter Scott Frank (Out of Sight, Minority Report, Get Shorty), will, it's just been announced, open this year's fest (March 9 through 17). Starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Isla Fisher, Matthew Goode and Jeff Daniels, The Lookout's been described as "a crime thriller with a twist."

SXSW has also unveiled a sampling of a few other selections:

One of these years I'd like to attend South by Southwest. More to gain the opportunity to meet you in person than anything else.

..."a crime thriller with a twist". I wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry when I read that tired, overused description which could probably be used for almost every crime thriller ever made.
