Karlovy Vary. Awards.

The Alternative Film Guide's got the list of this year's award-winners at Karlovy Vary. As André Soares notes on his accompanying blog, though Laurie Collyer's Sherrybaby won "Best Film" and its lead, Maggie Gyllenhaal, won "Best Actress," on the whole, Central Europe fared well, too.

Same goes for the Brussels European Film Festival. Soares: "Two Hungarian films, Agnes Kocsis's Friss levegö (Fresh Air) and György Pálfi's Taxidermia have tied for the 10,000-euro Iris Award for Best European Film."
