Ossie Davis, 1917 - 2005.
Ossie Davis, the imposing, unshakable actor who championed racial justice on stage, on screen and in real life, often in tandem with his wife, Ruby Dee, has died. He was 87.

Among the events Ossie Davis hosted just last year are a Tribute to Fannie Lou Hamer and the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party and the National Memorial Day Concert.

And I just saw him in Bubba Ho-tep the other night too. He was excellent in that.

All of my life I have seen them in movies, plays, and recitings. They both are Icons to the art world. I have admired them as performers and as a couple. Never heard anything in the tabloids about them. I introduced my daughter to them.Thank God for the video.
